Quincy students Chad Richardson, Daniel Rexford, Renard Lomax,
Matthew McGonnigal, Charles Zacharias, Jordan Valle, and Tyler Shuman
participated in the 13th annual YouthBuild Carpentry Challenge at the
Home Depot in Methuen on May 12. Students from 11 YouthBuilds
worked for 2 ½ hours in the morning on a three-walled project with a
door and window opening. This year the team received an Honorable
Mention, placing fifth. "It was a great day filled with a lot of
excitement and tense moments. The Carpentry Challenge team worked so
hard and gave 110 percent of themselves. I'm very proud of our young
men and I congratulate them for their incredible effort. Unfortunately
we didn't win but we did not have one single demerit and that is a huge
accomplishment for the team!" said Quincy Manager Isabel Cobb. To see more photos click here. |
