It
was a joyous celebration as graduates of TRA-Quincy's YouthBuild
program received their certificates on September 16 at the Four's
Restaurant.
"For most of you at this time
last year, I'll bet, graduating from a program, receiving your GED,
securing employment or going to college was probably more of a dream
than a reality. Well, here we are tonight with the reality," said TRA
president Kim Harmon.
Along with family
and friends, several TRA staff members and representatives of the
Quincy Housing Authority, with whom they had worked, were on hand to
offer congratulations. Nearly all of the graduates have completed their
GEDs. Most have found employment or are on their way to college
programs.
The graduates included: Cristosue
Quintana, Taquanna Saint Louis, Charles Zacharias, Christopher Larsen,
John Logan, Renard Lomax, Joshua Manuel, Matthew McGonnigal, Jordan
Valle, Thomas Hulbert, Lesly Celestin, Ralph Jean-Pierre, Dallas Fox,
Chad Richardson, and Jose Robles.
