The
new Worcester YouthBuild class went to the Ecotarium again this year to
help prepare for their annual Great Pumpkin Fest held on October 24.
Many local groups had carved hundreds of pumpkins for the event. During
the family event the pumpkins are lit with battery-powered lights along
the paths that surround the Ecotarium. Students and staff unloaded the
pumpkins and placed them in their display areas, arranging them for
their best viewing. Since the students are in
the Mental Toughness phase of their program, this was their first
community service project. On the following
Monday the students returned for the clean-up phase of the project,
disposing of the 1,500 pumpkins used this year. For more photos click here. |
