30 hours per week, Monday - Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general supervision of the Regional Manager, responsible for providing ABE, Pre-GED and ESOL instruction; responsible for SCANS and job readiness training instruction; responsible for case management, counseling and support services; outreach, recruitment and enrollment to ensure sufficient numbers of clients are enrolled to meet contract goals; conducts orientation sessions with students to familiarize them with the program; responsible for monitoring attendance, and referral services, as well as maintaining client records to ensure successful program participation/completion and achievement of individual goals; maintains participant files/records, acts as liaison with community agencies; and performs other duties.
QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS degree and computer literacy required. Prior counseling experience strongly desired. Bi-lingual capability a plus. This job requires the ability to relate/communicate with a diverse, multi-cultural population with varying needs/issues. It also requires initiative, flexibility, creativity and strong organizational skills. Incumbent must be able to work both independently and closely with staff in a team approach to achieve overall program goals.

INSTRUCTOR - Adult Basic Education (ABE I)
Tuesday & Thursday evenings, 4 – 9 p.m.
SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Regional Manager, provides ABE instruction to students to enable them to increase their grade levels and pass the GED examination; facilitates required assessment testing on a regular basis; prepares and logs daily lesson plans; participates in the development of curriculum as well as the design and implementation of individualized and group activities; provides individualized instruction/attention to students to facilitate learning; provides personal, academic and vocational counseling services to students to ensure program retention and achievement of individualized goals; must attend required trainings, complete and maintain a yearly plan, create and implement lesson plans for a curriculum, and performs other duties.
QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS degree and computer literacy required. Massachusetts State Teacher Certification and 1-2 years experience as an instructor preferred. This job requires the ability to relate/communicate with a diverse, multi-cultural population with varying needs/ issues. It also requires initiative, creativity and strong organizational skills to cultivate and present the various curricula. It requires flexibility and the ability to produce required results in students, as well as the ability to work closely with staff in a team approach to achieve overall program goals.

Under the general supervision of the Regional Manager, provides instruction to students enrolled in the evening English for Speakers of Other Languages Program to enable them to improve their ability to understand, speak and write English; conducts orientation sessions with students to familiarize them with the program; participates in the development of curriculum as well as the design and implementation of individualized and group activities; conducts group ESL conversational classes and one-on-one tutorial sessions with students to facilitate learning; provides personal, academic and vocational counseling services to students to ensure program retention and achievement of individualized goals; and performs other duties. The instructor must attend monthly staff meetings and staff development trainings, complete and maintain a yearly plan, create and implement lesson plans for a curriculum, and performs other duties.
