Encyclopedia Brittanica - online encyclopedia
Microsoft Encarta Online - online encyclopedia
Wikipedia- free online encyclopedia that anyone can edit. This of course creates problems when irresponsible or ill informed persons edit articles in the encyclopedia. Normally encyclopedia articles are written by recognized "experts" in the area. This helps to give a level of authority and reliability to the information. Wikipedia hopes to reach this level of objectivity by "consensus" in which all viewpoints are taken into account. Before attempting to make changes to the text make sure you understand the rules and research the information you are adding. Do not commit electronic vandalism by deliberately adding improper information to the encyclopedia. Have respect for something that represents a worthwhile project. Many persons have invested considerable time to provide high quality articles.
