On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, Worcester YouthBuild students had a great opportunity to meet with US Congressman Jim McGovern. The Congressman shared his perspective on what is currently happening in our country and in particular in Washington, DC. He discussed the extreme significance of the upcoming presidential election and the importance of utilizing our right to vote and express our opinions. Students were actively engaged and asked many excellent questions. Thank you, Congressman McGovern, for taking time out of your very busy schedule to share your firsthand knowledge and expertise! As part of Worcester YouthBuild's civics education programming, Congressman McGovern's visit was preceded by visits from Massachusetts legislators including Representatives Mary Keefe and Jim O'Day and Senator Harriette Chandler.
