On April 2, the TRA-South Shore "family" participated in a walk to benefit the Old Colony Hospice. For the second year, 28 Brockton and New Bedford staff, students and families boarded a bus to the Irish Cultural Center in Canton. Enjoying the beautiful Sunday afternoon weather, they had a great time walking the four-mile course.

ABE, ESOL, Supported Work and Young Parents Program students and staff had solicited sponsors and donations. They collected $335, surpassing last year's donation of $290. All proceeds go to the hospice, which provides free palliative care to patients and their families.

"I was totally energized, refreshed and felt a new shot of life," said Brockton Supported Work Job Developer Estelle Sims, who walked with her daughter and two grandchildren. One of the staff who had benefited from OCD services, she added, "It was great for me to be there and reflect on my Dad and his life."
